The hotel

Best resort experience of anywhere I've been. The rooms are spacious with wonderfully large balconies. The pool is perfect for all day lounging - clean, great amenities and views. The ability to go next door to take advantage of the additional services, restaurants, etc. at Breathless but then return to the smaller, peaceful Secrets was a terrific benefit. Last, but not at all least, THE STAFF WAS AMAZING. Abundant, friendly, hard working, engaging, efficient, focused on making everything perfect for the guests. Whoever is hiring and training these people is doing a wonderful job! Especially at the pool - Thank you Steven, Mar and Bailey who were memorable to us but all were equally excelling at their jobs! Visited Cancun for our first time to attend a wedding celebration for two dear friends and had an absolute BLAST! The resort was beautiful and impeccably maintained. Throughout our stay, I appreciated the resort's focus on keeping the vibe alive: Starting with gentle music by the main pool in the mornings, gradually cranking up to the live DJ in the party pool! I also have to shout out my girl Nidalfia who kept our drinks flowing, AND making sure we were staying hydrated! Our room was nearby the Twist and Squeeze Bar, and the entire staff, Nidalfia, Daniel, Ciro, and Malqui were amazing and they really made our experience special. Unlimited food? My favorite. The French restaurant Coquette was PHENOMENAL! We also thoroughly enjoyed the Barefoot Grill and the buffet, Spoon, for breakfast and lunch. Lastly, our spa experience was incredible. Julia was extremely accommodating and walked me through the whole process. I had never had a massage before and was a little nervous. Walked out feeling like a wet noodle and perfectly relaxed. She was always taking care of my whole group of 10+ people & checking on us. She was an amazing server & caretaker! And seeing her each morning as we enjoyed the sun… Read more

This was my second time at this property. First time on the Secrets side. You can expect a typical Secrets experience of good service, relaxation, and serenity. I imagine this property is ideal if you are traveling with young adults that want to party. The Breathless side accommodates that well! Let's be clear- this is primarily a Breathless property with a “quiet side”. I was disappointed to only have one restaurant exclusive to Secrets but all other restaurants over at Breathless. Seems like Secrets could take advantage of having a few more options available to better distinguish the sides of the resort. Urbano was the poolside server that made sure he asked if we needed anything every single time he passed. Even if he had just brought us something he would always ask, anything else? Handsome Stephen was our daily entertainment team member. He made sure we knew the schedule for the day and came by to recruit before the start of every activity. He wasn’t bothersome, just welcoming and inclusive. My stay was 4 days and all in all I can’t complain. I’m a sucker for cheesy entertainment so I enjoyed the evening show/ games. My wife and I celebrated our 37th anniversery at Secrets and upgraded to prefer. The Room was fantastic the pool and area was fantastic to relax without much commotion. The only downgrade was the restaurants which seemed to be more for Breathless customers.
