I am a sandals select diamond member and have been to over a dozen properties. I can honestly say that top to bottom this stay was the best so far! Starting with our Butler team “R & R”, Reynaldo and Roger were great. The room was absolutely amazing. New features like the Rum Club, the Sky Bar were very cool. The food and every single restaurant was great. The service across the board was top notch! The property will celebrate 1 year after opening later this month and my wife and I were very impressed and will be back! For other Sandals Select members, if you haven’t tried this resort you definitely should. Also, attend the returning guest dinner and lunch if you get a chance! Definitely the best cuisine we have had as every meal during our 1 week stay was a hit but the returning guest meals were truly fantastic! Read less

It is very modern and more rooms were added.The best bar ever was totally removed, that was the tree bar. The golf course has been replaced by bugalows. The service is excellent and the restaurants are good. We didn't eat at the French restaurant which is the only one with a dress code. It is almost impossible to get a chair on the beach or around the pool. Not sure what time of day people put towels on the chairs. I finally asked one of the pleasant lifeguards how to get a chair. He removed towels from chairs that were not being used and brought us an umbrella. Wish we had dont that earlier. They do spray daily for bugs and unfortunately we did see dead bees, sometimes on our veranda. The staff are all very attentive and I can't say enough about them. Read less

Our 2nd time in Jamaica and we're already talking about our 3rd visit back. The location was beautiful with a fantastic beach. The wives spent a majority of the week in the infinity pool. The whole resort was clean and was laid out so everything could be easily found. The rooms were clean with a nice balcony and a fantastic mountain view. The breeze at night was so refreshing. The restaurants were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Everybody was willing to go "above and beyond" to make your meal enjoyable. King, the manager at the Asian restaurant, was the best host. Right from the beginning, you felt as though you were long-time friends with him. He made our solo dinner so enjoyable and at the end he invited us back the following night telling us to "Bring our friends". We returned the next evening and King was right there to welcome us and our friends. When our dinner was over he asked us to join him in a small glass of Sake. We happily obliged him and we all drank to friendship. Thank you King for such a nice experience. The lobby was a perfect place to just go and sit and relax after a meal. We sat and talked while we listened to some piano music and a singer or two. The front lobby staff was beyond amazing. They too couldn't do enough for us. Even when I would go to the front desk just to say "Hello" to the girls working there, they were ready and willing to accommodate. Over the years, my wife and I have learned that the resort, the staff, the food, and who you travel with, are what will make your vacation a successful vacation or a not so nice vacation. Sandals has now made 2 of our vacations very memorable. Both times, at both resorts, both my wife and I have met one (or more) of the staff members that 'Stood out' from the others and have touched our hearts in one way or another. This last vacation, my wife met a girl named Omanda. From the beginning they connected on, what my wife would say was a, spiritual level. Although brief, my wife loved her time spent with Omanda. I was so happy to see Omanda there at the front of the resort when we were waiting for the bus back to the airport to return home. It made me happy to watch the two of them together as they laughed and smiled together. When the bus pulled up, both of them hugged with tears rolling down their cheeks, my wife vowing to never forget her. What a heartwarming experience that was for them and for me as well. For me, it was a sweet young girl named Jada at the front desk. The first time I walked up to the desk, her smile captured me instantly as she walked up to me and introduced herself asking, "What can I do for you today?" I love Jada's personality and her genuine sincerity. I spent the remainder of the week just talking with and enjoying Jada's company. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to Jada on the day we left. We pulled out just about 10:45 and Jada gets to work at 11:00. I guess it was just as well because I would have felt silly, being a grown man with tears rolling down my face as I said goodbye. The Sandals experience has been a homerun for us twice now. The resort, the staff, the food, the people we met, and the fun times we had. Thank you EVERYBODY for the amazing new memories. Read less

We loved our time at Sandals Dunn's River. We were in room 1201 which is a luxury room with an indoor soaking tub. While the room was noisy in the evenings because of the entertainment in the lobby, it was clean, the room staff were amazing, and we enjoyed the soaking tub. We enjoyed kayaking and sailing, and my husband had a great dive. He even tried waterskiing. The water sports staff were encouraging and tried to teach him the basics. Alas, he didn't get the hang of it but we're looking forward to seeing them again next year. I have a gluten and dairy allergy. Visiting new properties is always frightening but I appreciate that Sandals has a culinary concierge program to assist. Young, the culinary concierge I worked with all week was amazing. She spoke to each restaurant the night I was going to eat there to make sure I had a safe, delicious meal planned ahead. She even spoke to the pastry chef and made sure I had dessert! I can't remember the last time I had dessert on vacation! Arjuna at the sit-down breakfast option was so helpful. His attention to detail was appreciated and he remembered me each morning he was working. I looked forward to seeing him and felt confident that he would communicate with the kitchen for me. Jada was lovely. She made great drinks and we enjoyed her teasing my husband on not having a matching raincoat. My husband likes to sketch on vacation but realized our teenager had taken his eraser after we arrived. The gift shop doesn't sell any but Christopher grabbed an eraser from his bag for us. He was so kind. He didn't need to help us with an eraser of all things but he did and we are grateful. Thank you for your kindness, Christopher. Hanami: A love story Eurene, manager of Hanami is a treasure. We met him at another restaurant when we were having a problem. It wasn't even his restaurant but he went out of his way to help us and invited us to his restaurant. We visited a couple of nights later and had an amazing meal. He was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about what could assist us during our stay. We appreciate his attention to detail and look forward to seeing him next year. Chef John: I visited a sushi restaurant with a gluten allergy and I don't eat fish. Not allergic to fish. I just don't like it. Chef John made me fried chicken sushi and it was amazing. It even had sauce! I had so much fun eating the food he created and can't wait to see what he creates next year. Unfortunately, no trip is ever perfect and I did get gluten at breakfast on my last day. I was upfront with the staff member taking my order, and he noted it, but there was a mix up in the kitchen and I was served regular French toast with a dairy caramel. The staff made me a gluten-free/dairy-free version all week so I took a bite and swallowed a piece before I realized it was traditional bread. I spit out the rest but I'm very sensitive and ended up reacting for 3 days. I alerted the staff and was quickly surrounded by the restaurant manager and resort nurse. I'm a celiac so my gluten reactions are GI-related but I appreciated how fast they were to check on me. They offered a doctor but unfortunately, there isn't much a doctor can do once I've consumed gluten. It just has to play out. At lunch, Young found me and apologized for the mix-up. She also brought out Executive Chef Juan to talk to me. He also apologized and laid out his plans to make sure it doesn't happen again. He was professional and courteous. As much as I hated spending my last day sick because of a mix-up, Chef Juan and Young are the reasons we booked another trip to Dunn's River. Their attention to detail impressed me. I've never had anyone check on me the way they did and lay out a plan to retrain staff to make sure it doesn't happen again. Kitchen mistakes can happen but I feel confident in returning to Dunn's River. I look forward to their amazing infinity pools, staff, and beautiful rooms. Read less

My husband and I will be back very soon! We already booked another Sandals vacation, we want to try another one of the newer Sandals resorts!
