The hotel

A contemporary hideaway, the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall occupies a prime location, nestled between Jamaica’s famous Blue Mountain ridge and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. An adults-only retreat offering "Service from the Heart!", the atmosphere is gorgeously laid-back, ensuring plenty of rest and relaxation on the agenda. The private beach is nearly a mile long with swimmable coves to be alone in. All the usual sporting pastimes are on offer including beach volleyball, tennis, and basketball. When the day fades, there are restaurants and bars galore, not just those belonging to the Zilara but to the family friendly sister hotel, the Ziva, as well, offering 14 distinctly different restaurants to choose from. The pools and hot tubs close at 7 PM. Loud club music plays in the pool area all day long. It is not beachy music, you cannot hear the ocean. The beach is small. If you want to take a walk along the beach, this is not a place for you. We booked a room with two queen beds. They oversold this room and of us had to sleep on a pull out bed.… Read more

Thankfully, I won the coin toss on that. It wasn’t great. They claimed there was no room available that had two beds. Unlikely. The workers at the resort were all very polite and helpful. First, Percival "Perci", took care of us from the time our feet hit the resort. He checked on us the entire trip. He was there when it was time to leave for a seamless departure. LaShoya at the Asian Restaurant (Fuzion) made it the best experience for dining! She had a smile on her face the entire time!! (Atasha and Raniecia at Fuzion were amazing!) Shereen at the Union Jackz Sports Bar was so pleasant and a hustler! Great bar food for a night away from regular dining options. Food overall was good at each dining location. Dress cool ......very warm in all dining options. Shakira at the pool bars is now one of our best friends....find out what pool she is working and stay the day! We had all had a king swim-up suite. Worth every penny! Rooms were clean on arrival and cleaned every day when we returned. Natash was incredible with our rooms! Adult side pool area was a little rough around the edges during the day. Loud music with songs we had never heard but didn't ruin our time, we just spent less time there:) Couples massages were incredible! Beach in front of Ziva family side was the best. Zilara side is a little rocky. WE HAD A BLAST! WE WILL RETURN! (Can't let this end without one of the best "behind-the-scenes" staff - Carol with landscaping, smiled and greeted us every morning! Hello let me start by saying I had a good time in Jamaica but I had to make my time good along with the help of some of the staff members, javaine Oratio , Oshane , chef crystal and chef Christopher , let me start with upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff members then at check in we were given keys just keys no map of resort no list of events for each night nothing no tour of resort , we made reservations for restaurants wasn’t given any information on where each restaurant was located or a r reminder of which one was for which days the room was very nice but ac went out next day and we were moved at 1 am in the morning to a down graded room just till in morning but wasn’t moved to a better room till midnight that room was better but water was cold for showers and water pressure was low in facet for both sinks it took for ever to find dinner places and we didn’t make it to any events because we weren’t aware of where they were or what night they took place it took a hour for room service to get to room Read less

Customer service is a 10. Only had one. Landscape and beach are Beautiful. The buildings and pools are very dated/dirty, 1/2 stars. I would not recommend this resort until they remodel the entire resort. I was expected a 4/5 star resort, and got a 2 star. We had to move the first hour, the smell of mold was that bad.
