To be back home after a fabulous relaxing holiday at Cobblers Cove. From the moment we arrived we had that wow factor and knew we had chosen well. The suites are large and extremely clean and comfortable with everything you could need. A good small boutique size hotel, with stunning and well maintained gardens. We managed to see a number of wildlife within the gardens including humming birds, monkeys, mongoose, and lizards. I read some less positive reviews before staying here mentioning how small the pool is. The pool is more than adequate in size, and we never saw more 4 or 5 people in it any one time. It was so relaxing laying down by the pool with no music playing and just the sounds of the waves and birds. The beaches either side are fantastic, not crowded and lovely to walk along. The hotel is only a short stroll away from Speightstown, Heywoods beach, Port St Charles, and Mullins Bay in the other direction. The free daily boat trip was excellent and something we took advantage of during our stay. The staff are lovely and friendly, from Virgil and Matthew serving up great cocktails at the bar, to the lovely, and bubbly Chantelle and Heather who we enjoyed chatting to in the restaurant. Of course the general manager Joanna as well, who is extremely responsive and is clearly great at what she does! How anyone can find fault with this hotel is beyond me. Yes there are some ‘quirks’ with the restaurant service, but we just laughed them off in the end. If your looking for a high end, relaxing break within easy walking distance of other beaches, bars and restaurants then this place ticks all the boxes. We have stayed in Barbados a number of times now and this was hands down our favourite stay! Read less

Cobblers Cove is a gorgeous hotel! The grounds are lovely and I especially loved that everything is pink and the architecture was traditional which we really liked! Our stay was lovely although we are probably biased in that we spent the first half of our trip at Coral Reef and couldn't fault it, so we felt ourselves comparing everything to that! Upon arrival, we were greeted very warmly with a refreshing towel and a welcome rum punch, setting a positive tone for our stay. All of the staff were lovely and welcoming, showing us around the grounds and making us feel at home. The room was very spacious, with a separate living and kitchen area, a large bed, and a gorgeous bathroom with lovely pink striped robes. However, one main concern for us was that it didn't have properly closed windows and doors, just blinds/shutters. This meant that mosquitoes could get in, and it was very loud at night with the tropical animals & people moving around in the morning which ended up keeping us up. I know that the hotel does have some rooms with fully closed doors/windows so I spoke to the staff about moving but they were fully booked unfortunately. To be fair to the staff, they did everything in their power to help mitigate the issue, they immediately had maintenance come and fit a mosquito net and provided lots of repellent and mosquito plugs. However, the noise did impact our stay a lot - perhaps there should be a note when you book those rooms that they aren't fully closed off so that guests can choose a different room based on those things if they want to? The beach was amazing, and we were lucky enough to see three turtles when snorkelling about 10 meters from the shore. The sun loungers were comfortable, and the complimentary ice water, cold face towels, and sorbet brought to us during the day were an amazing touch! As much as we love a boutique hotel compared to a sprawling all inclusive, Cobbler's small size meant that we could hear everyone's conversations around the pool area which interrupted the relaxation. This might have just been because we had some loud guests causing issues around us but I'd recommend staying elsewhere if you want somewhere quite quiet and spacious as the pool and lounging area felt quite cramped for the price you're paying. The cocktails were amazing - best pina coladas we had & the food was good - we ate out at restaurants most nights so can't really comment on the dinner but the live music in the evenings around the bar was a lovely touch! Breakfast was a bit of a shambles. One day we were left waiting for an hour for our food, which was just French toast and poached eggs and it wasn't even busy, and sometimes we would be left standing for a while waiting to be seated when there were tons of free, clean tables. A lot of guests around us were complaining about the wait because all hot food is made to order and buffet items were limited to fruits and yoghurt. We overheard the people next to us waiting for an hour and a half for some pancakes. In my opinion, breakfast would definitely be an area for improvement for the hotel as its usually when people are their moodiest & hungriest. Read less

Our second visit to the Cobblers Cove was much anticipated as we desperately needed a quiet break away from the stresses at home. Our memories of this hotel were good and our expectations high. We had communicated before our arrival to make a few requests and to arrange airport transfer and e mails were charmingly sand promptly responded to. Always a sign on how a place is run in my opinion. Our hotel arranged transport was at the airport waiting for us and took us to the hotel where the welcome was fabulous. Smiling staff enthusiastically whisked us through the lobby almost straight to our room which was the same delightful suite we had on our previous visit. No need to fill out forms or pass credit cards here, just pop in to the lobby tomorrow and check all is in order, we were instructed to relax, settle in and enjoy our welcome drink, that had just arrived on the balcony overlooking the Caribbean just as the sun began to set. Sounds amazing doesn't it, it really is ! This property is very special. It is small (40 rooms) and the decor is in the style of an old country house, rattan furniture and stunning prints adorn curtains and sofas. The bathrooms are modern and well fitted and the bed is super comfortable. The beach is adjacent to the pool area and be sure to try snorkelling, we swam with turtles feeding on the close by rocks. The beach is quiet and perfect for a stroll. The restaurant is charming. The menu changes daily and fresh fish is the highlight (we ate here each evening) and for breakfast (try the coconut milk yoghurt!). Staff throughout the property are warm and friendly and we felt so comfortable with them looking after us. Look carefully and you might be lucky to see a mongoose, a troupe of monkeys, amazing birds and the inevitable cats, all hiding but visible if you look carefully. The hotel was full but somehow was still perfectly quiet and relaxing. The wonderful daily afternoon tea presentation in the library seemed to be a focus for people to come out and socialise for a chat and was the only time we saw some of the guests. The afternoon tea is a highlight for us and we didn't miss one! Check out the Crown Derby China Suite especially designed for the hotel, it's beautiful. As you can tell this is one of our favourite resorts in the world, it is not for everyone though, there are no TV's in the rooms, it is quiet and peaceful (no intrusive music anywhere, except the couple of hours some evening where well chosen singers and musicians play at dinner), it is not a party hotel (thank goodness!), it is a place to enjoy quiet, and amazing flora and fauna and a good book! Sitting by the pool listening to the birds and the waves crash on the rocks is a dream. We will be back for sure! A special thank you for the extraordinary effort made by the front desk ladies who found us a room to have a quick shower and change before we left as our room was already occupied and a late check out was not possible. Enabling a few extra hours of relaxation. Read less

After being a little uninspired by recent trips to the island, Cobblers Cover has helped us fall in love with Barbados all over again. Beautiful rooms, terrific staff and some exceptional food will mean we will be sure to return. Thanks for a fab holiday.

This is far and away the best and most luxurious hotel I have ever been to. It is a dream of a place, makes you feel like you are living on clouds. Slim Aarons glam, delicious strong cocktails and salsa dancing – I would give it twelve stars if I could.
